Guide and access to the official procedure

Uruguay cadastral certificate

A cadastral certificate is the document issued by the Dirección Nacional de Catastro that formally identifies a property. The standard certificate has legal validity; the data shown by INGAR is informational and does not replace it.

How do I obtain a cadastral certificate?

  1. 1. Identify the parcel.

For urban parcels, you need department, cadastral locality and parcel number; for rural parcels, department and parcel number.

  2. 2. Check the tenure regime.

A unit may also require the block, mezzanine or basement and unit number.

  3. 3. Obtain it from DNC.

Follow the current instructions on the official website; this is the only issuance INGAR presents as valid.

Standard or detailed certificate?

The standard certificate certifies current cadastral data. The detailed certificate adds immediate historical information held by DNC, such as the previous parcel number or original survey plan. The correct type depends on the specific procedure.
