Architecture and development

Kopel Sánchez

Kopel Sánchez was founded in Montevideo in 2002 by architects Fabián Kopel and Sebastián Sánchez. Its first commissions were retail spaces and renovations; it later created its own construction company and an office devoted to real estate investment analysis.

In 2012, the studio stopped launching new buildings under the Nexus line and shifted much of its residential development toward Uruguay’s promoted-housing program. Ventura emerged from that change.

INGAR currently tracks 5 projects by this developer. The 5 developments total 602 published apartments and 51,600 published m².

Uruguay

Kopel Sánchez in Uruguay

The studio was founded in Montevideo, and its history as a developer began here as well.

Kopel Sánchez began with retail spaces and renovations, created a construction company in 2007 and started its first housing development in 2010. Uruguay’s Promoted Housing Law opened a new stage: from 2012 onward, it stopped launching Nexus projects and developed the Ventura brand for residential buildings in neighborhoods such as Cordón, Tres Cruces and La Blanqueada.

Ventura Tres Cruces opened in 2015. By 2020, Ventura already encompassed more than 15 buildings in Montevideo; the portfolio included over 600 completed units and another 800 in new projects. The current stage includes larger developments in Montevideo and Ciudad de la Costa.
